Anna Rita Putignano obtained her Master’s degree in Molecular Biology and Genetics from the University of Pavia in 2018. She then completed a second-level Master’s program in Bioinformatics and Functional Genomics at the University of Milan.
She began her career as a bioinformatician at the National Institute of Molecular Genetics (INGM) in Milan, where she contributed to bioinformatics analyses of single-cell RNA and TCR sequencing data to profile tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes, as well as to investigate immune responses in COVID-19 patients.
She joined the Cellular Immunology Laboratory at IRCCS Humanitas Research Hospital in 2021. Her research focused on the bioinformatic analysis of bulk, single-cell, and spatial transcriptomics data to characterize immune cell populations within the tumor microenvironment.
Starting from July 2025, she joined the Computational Biology Laboratory at Humanitas Research Hospital, under the leadership of Professor C.K.Y. Ng, where she is focusing on integrative multi-omics data analysis to better understand tumor biology and contribute to precision oncology.
