Francesca Usai

Postdoc fellow

Francesca is a biomedical engineer with a PhD in synthetic biology. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher at Humanitas working in the Micali Group, where they explore innovative solutions in microbiome research.

Her previous work focused on developing biosensors for agritech applications, leveraging bioprinting technologies, and engineering cyanobacteria to create carbon-negative platforms. Her research extends to microbiome-host interactions, examining how bile acids influence microbial dynamics and pathogenic activation, including Salmonella.
