Giulia Albanese earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology (2023) and her Master’s degree in Medical Biotechnology and Molecular Medicine (2025) from the University of Milan, where she specialized in Medical and Experimental Oncology. As part of her Master’s thesis, she worked at the Department of Oncology at KU Leuven (Belgium), investigating how dynamic conformational changes of G-quadruplex structures within the long non-coding RNA LISRR influence its role in drug-tolerant melanoma cells.

She is currently a Research Fellow in the Translational Endocrinology and Metabolism Lab, working under the supervision of Dr. Eleonora Vitali.

Her research focuses on the molecular mechanisms underlying tumor progression and therapeutic resistance in pancreatic and pulmonary neuroendocrine tumors, with the aim of identifying and functionally characterizing novel therapeutic targets and biomarkers to support the development of more effective treatment strategies.
