Matteo Marozzi obtained his Master’s Degree in Medical Biotechnology in 2018 at the University of Milan, under the supervision of Prof. Tommaso Bellini, working on the development of a DNA nanotechnology-based assay for detecting protein interactions on cell membranes. In 2019, he moved to the University of York (UK) where he started a PhD program in Physics under the supervision of Prof. Mark Leake and Prof. Deborah O’Connell. Here, his main focus was the study of protein-DNA nanostructure interactions, using a combination of microscopy techniques, including home-made Localization microscopy systems, TIRF, FCS and AFM.
In 2024, he joined the Multiscale Imaging Unit at Humanitas Research Hospital, where he is actively involved in the use of Confocal, STED, 2P and Live-cell imaging systems, alongside Imaging Mass Cytometry. He is also in charge of developing tissue staining and optical clearing protocols, for the 3D imaging of entire organs and large tissue volumes through Confocal and Lightsheet microscopy.
