Dr. Marcucci is an internist and perioperative medicine specialist, with an MSc in Health Research Methodology.
She joined Humanitas University and the Humanitas Research Hospital in September 2023, as Associate Professor in Internal Medicine at Humanitas University and full-time member of the Clinical Epidemiology and Research Centre (CERC).

Before joining Humanitas, she was a faculty member at the Departments of Health Research Methods, Evidence, and Impact (HEI), and Medicine at McMaster University, and attending physician in the Division of General Internal Medicine and Perioperative Service at Hamilton Health Sciences. She remains a Part-Time Associate Professor at McMaster University, an active Scientist in the Perioperative & Surgery and Digital Health groups at the McMaster-affiliate Population Health Research Institute, and member of the McMaster Institute for Research on Aging.

Her current clinical research program is on cardiovascular and functional outcomes of older and medically complex patients undergoing noncardiac surgery, with a focus on perioperative neurocognitive disorders, cardio- and cerebrovascular complications, and frailty. She has a 15-year experience in a variety of health research methods, including randomized control trials, prospective cohorts and prognosis research, and evidence syntheses.
Her interests as researcher and educator include also migrant health, research capacity-building and equity in research. She is affiliate member of the McMaster Mary Heersink School of Global Health and Social Medicine, and part of the Network for Research on Migration and Health, NeRMiH.
