After completing her Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology at the University of Milan in 2019, she awarded a fellowship at the Department of Biomedical Sciences for Health (University of Milan), focusing on contribution of the innate immune system to dermatological diseases. Later that year, she began her PhD in Translational Medicine, conducting her research at the IRCCS National Cancer Institute in Milan. In 2022, she defended her thesis regarding the role of macrophages in dampening the antitumor activity of anti-PD-1 antibody when combined with a TLR9 agonist. After spending three years in a company, she returns to research in 2025, joining the Leukocyte Biology Lab (LBL) led by Massimo Locati at Humanitas Research Hospital. She is currently working for the development of novel tools to target tetraspanin MS4A proteins in monocyte/macrophage subsets in both solid tumors and leukemias.
