Dr. Zenobio Antonio Viana de Barros has obtained the Master’s degree in Biotechnology from the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology, in 2018, defending the thesis entitled “GalNAc conjugates vs lipid nanoparticles for siRNA deliveries to the liver targeting Ubr ubiquitin ligases”.

In 2022, Dr. Barros obtained the PhD in Medical Biotechnology from the Università degli Studi di Perugia, with a thesis entitled “Role of GILZ in the hematopoietic stem cell functions”, being featured at publications in peer-reviewed journals and scientific meetings such as the annual congress of the European Hematology Association and the annual congress of the Società Italiana di Farmacologia.

Currently Dr. Barros is a bioinformatician at the Medical Genetics and RNA Biology Laboratory, headed by Prof. Dr. Rosanna Asselta, and is interested in transcriptomics, genomics, advanced bioinformatics tools, algorithms, and statistical techniques to process, analyze, and interpret large-scale sequencing data generated from RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, WES, and WGS.
