Federica Ruggeri obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from the University of Milano-Bicocca and a Master’s Degree in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology from the University of Milan. During her Master’s thesis she carried out her research project at the Department for Developmental Origins of Disease of University Medical Center Utrecht. She worked on the characterization of the effect of Mesenchymal Stem Cell-based therapy on neuroregeneration upon Hypoxic-Ischemic injury.

Currently, she is performing her PhD research in the Adaptive Immunity Laboratory at Humanitas University, headed by Immunology and General Pathology Professor Marinos Kallikourdis. Her PhD project focuses on the role of the adaptive immune system in cardiovascular diseases.
