He graduated in Molecular Biology and Genetics from the University of Pavia in 2020, gaining experience in biochemical, molecular, cellular, and bacterial biology at the Department of Molecular Medicine.

From 2021 to 2024, he contributed to major oncology research projects, investigating the H63D gene variant in pancreatic cancer (AIRC project) and evaluating EMT biomarkers in liquid biopsies for colorectal and pancreatic cancer diagnosis.

Since 2024, Alessio has worked in Professor Rusconi’s research group, managing lab operations and providing comprehensive technical support across projects spanning microfluidic device fabrication and experiments, RNA and DNA extraction and analysis for sequencing-based and metagenomic applications, and molecular studies of interactions among bacteria, immune cells, and their environment.
