Karina Koczberska is a PhD student in the lab of Prof. Piscuoglio, within the Precision Medicine Research Lab group.

She obtained her Master’s degree in Veterinary Biotechnology Sciences from the University of Milan in 2023. Her master’s thesis, carried out at the Department of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (DiSAA), focused on the functional characterization of a three-dimensional in vitro model of the rainbow trout intestine.

In 2024, she joined the Precision Medicine Lab as a pre-doctoral research fellow, where she gained expertise in the establishment of patient-derived organoids from different tissues and tumor types. Later that year, she enrolled in the PhD programme in Molecular and Experimental Medicine at Humanitas University.

Her research focuses on the development and application of clinically relevant patient-derived breast cancer organoids models to investigate therapeutic response and support the preclinical evaluation of innovative treatment strategies, including targeted therapies and multimodal approaches.
